What You Tell Yourself About Stress Matters


I have had one of my long-time suspicions validated. That suspicion has to do with whether or not stress is actually harmful to us.

It seems like a foregone conclusion, and I can hear many say “Yes, why, of course it’s bad for us, it has to be, because everyone is telling us that it is.”

That’s when I start looking for the real answer, and it finally did come to me, through a TED talk by Kelly McGonigal, entitled: How to Make Stress Your Friend. I believe that this one deceives the attention of anyone who lives in a developed nation and has heard the message that stress is doing all sorts of damage to you.
